an evening with The Museion

mystic

monday

An intimate evening at the intersection of poetry, ritual and contemplative practice.

This began as an experiment, and a small act of faith. If the room you long for does not yet exist, you build it. I craved more intimate spaces that cultivate the quality of relating I love: deep, present, attuned. Slow and spacious. So I set out to make one.

What emerged is a temple to curiosity. A space to bring your questions and play with them, in togetherness. A place to tend your own relationship to the sacred, and the spaciousness to simply be, alongside others doing the same.

It began on Mondays, which is how it first found its name. Since then it has wandered into other evenings and other rooms, in person in Zürich and online from wherever you are. The shape keeps changing. The invitation stays the same.

Maybe you are meant to be there, too.

Questions & answers

What is mysticism?
Mysticism is the pursuit of direct, first-hand experience of the sacred, or of ultimate reality, rather than knowledge of it through doctrine, belief or intellect alone. Across traditions it points to the same thing: a felt sense of connection to something larger than the self. At The Museion we meet it as living practice, with curiosity rather than dogma.
Do I need previous experience or a particular belief?
No. You do not need to belong to any tradition, hold any belief, or have practised meditation before. All you need is a willingness to slow down and be present alongside others doing the same.
Who is this for?
For the curious, the explorers, and anyone drawn to depth, beauty and the questions that resist neat answers. If you long for slower, more attuned company, you will likely feel at home.
Is it online or in person?
Both. Some gatherings are held in person in Zürich, others online from wherever you are. Each date in the calendar shows which it is, and you choose the format that suits you when you register.
Is it always on a Monday?
Not any more. It began on Mondays, which is where the name Mystic Monday comes from. It has since grown into the Mystic Salon, and the gatherings now fall on varying days. The calendar above always shows the next ones.
What actually happens at a gathering?
Every session is different. It is an hour dedicated to the mystery, for a reason.
Is it free?
It is free for all paid subscribers of The Museion on Substack. If you are not one yet, you can upgrade your subscription here.
